Sean Turner

Sean Turner (PhD): Sean currently teaches Theatre at a Transfer High School in New York city, serving overaged, under-credited youth. Sean has 20 years of experience developing and directing different after and in school and community based multimodal, theatre and art programs in New York City targeting at-risk students through the use of BodyVoice. He is certified in Theatre Arts and Special Education – and has earned a Doctorate in Literacy- Arts Integration. Sean in an emerging researcher whose focus is on interdisciplinary research. His interests include A/R/Tography, Arts Based Educational Research, Multilitieracies, Critical Youth Studies, Media Studies, Critical Discourse, and Research Topics within the broader landscape of Special Education, including learning disabilities, behavior disorders, and autism.  He is also an adjunct professor at Hunter College in the Behavior Disorders Program and is the current managing director of the Lessac Research and Training Institute.
