Join PA Arts and Humanities Consultant O. David Deitz as he shares strategies and ideas specific to teaching social and emotional learning in a theatre classroom.  Theatre education is a natural fit for social and emotional learning, however it must be intentional and planned.  The PA SEL & Theatre toolkit offers everything needed to bring intentional SEL instruction into the theatre classroom.

PA Fine Arts Education Consultant, PA Department of Education

O David Deitz serves as a Fine Arts Education Consultant for the PA Department of Education. This position includes supervision/implementation of arts curriculum, assessment, and professional development initiatives. A retired music educator, Mr. Deitz taught for 40 years at the secondary and collegiate levels and recently served PDE as a member of the Educator Effectiveness team and co-writer of the assessment literacy training materials. He continues to be active as a guest conductor, choral music clinician/adjudicator, and teacher evaluation consultant.
