Donatella Galella teaches at the University of California, Riverside. Her book America in the Round: Capital, Race, and Nation at Washington DC's Arena Stage is a critical history of the first professional theatre in the US capital. She has been cited in the New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, and NPR, among other venues, for her work on race, casting, and musical theatre. She is currently researching how yellowface persists in contemporary theatre and how Asian American artists have worked against racism.
