Anonymous Ensemble partners with the Educational Theatre Association to offer a one-day professional development intensive, teaching skills needed to create and stream a virtual performance event. This hands-on workshop is geared towards educators who are interested in applying the theatrical skills they already possess in an online context; exploring the development and presentation of online performances. The workshop covers tips and best practices for performing online, lighting for performers in their homes, as well as some of the intricacies of working with Zoom, OBS, and Qlab. Participants will spend the first portion of their day learning how to light and block online actors, then move on to a hands on study of the technology required to live stream a performance. Working in small groups, participants will devise a short performance, coach the actors, light the piece and then live stream including real-time sound and video manipulation. Technologies covered include Zoom, Discord, Snapcam, Qlab, and OBS; however principles learned will be applicable to other types of video conferencing software and sound applications.

Eligible for College Credit through a partnership with University of Northern Colorado.

Length: 6 hours with one 30 minute break
